In Pangaea, everybody respects my opinion", "A string that connects Korea and other countries", and "The world is one, and it can be one".

As "Suggestion for Pangaea", they answered: "Introducing about countries during webcam", "Talent show as Webcam activity", "Inviting or visiting foreign friends", and "Videocall".

+ Pangaea Ring: Ms. Risako Kabata
+ 2010 Activity Report (Oct 2010 to Sep 2011)
+ Activity Report in November 2011

Pangaea Ring this month was written by “Kaba-chan” or Ms. Risako Kabata who is a facilitator leader at Kyoto University in Kyoto, Japan. She leads Kyoto activity with her excellent abilities to plan and execute. Thank you so much for Kaba-chan, as always.

Also, On Friday November 25th, the Board of Directors and the General Meeting of Non-profit organization Pangaea were held, where fiscal year 2010 activities were reported. In fiscal year 2011 that started in October 2011, Pangaea will further enhance and expand its activities based on its past achievements. Thank you for your continued support to Pangaea.

Pangaea Ring: Ms. Risako Kabata
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi, everyone. I am "Kaba-chan" at Kyodai, or Kyoto University. I have been playing the role of Facilitator Leader at Kyodai activities since this April.

I came to know Pangaea last January. I learnt about it through the mailing list that distributes information about international exchange programs, to participate in Facilitator training immediately after. I was fascinated by the philosophy of Pangaea there. What was discussed was the discriminately view based on the difference of ethnicity or culture such as "this and that ethnic group is scary", spread in the aftermath of 9.11, and the fact that the future depends on how children would view the world. Therefore, if there is a place where children across the world can build the friendship transcending the barrier of language, time and space, it will directly connect to the world peace. Pangaea develops and utilizes the information technology in the peaceful manner for its realization. I was moved and felt strong empathy with the thoughts and sense of mission of Yumiko-san and Toshi-san.

I myself was given a chance to understand through experience that "Americans are not all the same. There are many kinds of people.", as my parents were accommodating the homestay of foreign students. I was fascinated by Pangaea that can give such opportunities to more number of children in the more accessible manner! I found it difficult to stick to something ever since I became college student, but I could continue only Pangaea, because I was touched by its basic principles. I must also add that charming personalities of Pangaea office staffs and volunteers besides cute smiling faces of children attracted me.

I am truly looking forward to the spread of Pangaea across the world. Pangaea's technologies are excellent in its universality, as you can see from its agricultural assistance program in Vietnam, utilizing YMC or youth mediated communication model. I would like to work in the field of public health in the future, and I have an expectation that Pangaea's technology can be applied to the education of hygiene, lifestyle habit and sex in the developing countries. I am still a student, but I would like to keep in touch with Pangaea for a long time after my graduation. Thank you and best regards to all of you.

2010 Activity Report (Oct 2010 to Sep 2011)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On Friday November 25th, the Board of Directors and the General Meeting of Non-profit organization Pangaea were held, where fiscal year 2010 activities were reported.

In fiscal year 2010, 70 Pangaea activities were held as the international exchange program among children worldwide, to make the total number of activities to date 480, registered children as of the end of September 2011 533, and the total number of activity participants to date 5,233.

In research and development, "Field Test of Youth-Mediated Agriculture Support System Service Model in Vietnam (YMC-Viet Project)" was held between February and March 2011 in Tra On District, Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, to confirm the positive results for the improvement of the agricultural productivity, which was discussed in the academic workshop held in HCMC, Vietnam in May 2011, to initiate the Vietnam-Japan interdisciplinary academic group to promote rural development in Vietnam.

Please see more detail about Pangaea activities in fiscal year 2010 (from Oct 2010 to Sep 2011) in "Activity Report 2010" (PDF). http://www.pangaean.org/Download/2010Report/H22_2010_ActivityReport_eng.pdf
