Pangaea has been a non-profit organization in Japan since 2003.
Its mission is to be a peace engineering laboratory, creating a ‘Universal Playground’—an engaging platform, both online and offline, where young people worldwide can form personal bonds that transcend the boundaries of language, time, and space.

Pangaea’s quarter-century journey has built unparalleled proficiency
across young people, digital technologies, and intercultural fields.
Pangaea is supported and funded by universities, research institutes, government agencies, private corporations, and individual contributors, including researchers and artists, and maintains an extensive global network. The project was named after the ancient supercontinent Pangaea, when the five continents were a single land mass, to represent the bond being built among young people who will inherit tomorrow’s world.
